Information about Product Certification
This information will guide you through the certification process.
It is difficult to say in advance exactly how long the certification process will take.

To apply for certification, download and fill out the BS003-5 Application for Product Certification form.
In order for us to review and assess whether the product meets the requirements of the applicable rules or standard, you need to provide the necessary supporting documentation.
The documentation you may need to provide includes, for example, test reports and manuals.
The documentation required will be specified in the confirmation of receipt that we send by email.
The sooner you provide the requested documentation, the sooner we can process your application.
For product certification according to System 1a, no factory production control is carried out during the validity period of the certificate. This applies, for example, to products attested according to SSF 1014.
Once all documentation has been submitted to us, we will review it. We will contact you if any additional documentation is required.
Once SCAB has determined that all requirements of the applicable rules or standard have been met, a decision is made to issue the certificate.
The certificate is sent by email as a PDF. Certification marks in various formats are also attached to the email.
Your certificate details are then published on svenskcertifiering.se.
If the product is attested, we do not carry out any inspections.
When the validity period is approaching its expiry date, renewed certification is required in order to extend the validity of the attestation or certificate. This is referred to as recertification.
Upgrading an attestation or certificate means that a new edition of the rules or standard on which the certification is based has been issued.
To retain the attestation or certificate, you as the customer need to demonstrate that the product meets the requirements of the new edition. Your certificate will, of course, remain valid throughout its entire validity period, regardless of updates to the rules or standard.
This is normally carried out in connection with recertification.
